BERND LENO
The Arsenal's first goalkeeper, Bernd Leno, joined Arsenal in June 2018 from Bayer Leverkusen (Germany). He has made 230 appearances for the Bundesliga and being capped for the senior German national team.
Bernd Leno born on 4 March 1992 born in Bietigheim-Bissingen, Baden-Württemberg (Germany). His father is Russian-German. He had signed a five-year contract with Arsenal for a fee of £22.5 million.
Leno made his debut for Arsenal in the 4–2 victory over Ukraine's club Vorskla Poltava in the Europa League. His debut in Premier League came against Watford when Arsenal won 2-0, replacing regular goalkeeper Petr Čech, who picked up an injury in the first-half.
Bernd Leno was the runner up of the Arsenal Player of the Season award in the 2019–20 season. On 25 February 2021, he played his 100th match for Arsenal in all competitions in a 3–2 win over Benfica in the Europa League round.
Bernd Leno has actually performed quite well for Arsenal so far, yet the Gunners appear to be looking for a better goalkeeper for the next season.
According to The Telegraph report, Leno's name is on Arsenal's selling list along with five other players. This move seems to be driven by the great failure of this London club in various competitions in England and Europe this season.
Leno got his first call up to the senior Germany group in October 2015 for UEFA Euro 2016 qualifiers against Republic of Ireland and Georgia. His name was then listed for Germany's team squad for the final tournament the following summer.
Leno was selected for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia. He played one game of the tournament, against Australia. He was named in Germany's provisional squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, but was not selected for the final 23-man squad. On 19 May 2021, he was selected to the squad for the UEFA Euro 2020.
