KIERAN TIERNEY
Kieran Tierney is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a left-back or centre-back for Premier League club Arsenal and the Scotland national team. He joined Arsenal in August 2019.
Tierny was born 5 June 1997 in Douglas, Isle of Man. Prior to joining Arsenal, Kieran Tierney played for Scottish Premiership's club, Celtic.
Tierney played for Scotland at Scotland U18 and Scotland U19 levels. He received his first call-up to the senior Scotland squad on 10 March 2016 for a friendly against Denmark.
Kieran Tierney actually became a mainstay for the Scottish team at UEFA Euro 2020, but unfortunately the calf injury he suffered made him miss the first match when Scotland lost to the Czech Republic and possibly in the following matches.
Arsenal management is reportedly in talks with Tierney's agent regarding a contract extension for the player. The Gunners is claimed to want to keep Tierney in coach Mikel Arteta's squad.
Old Firm reported the Scottish footballer still has three years left on his current contract, but Arsenal are keen to offer the 24-year-old a long-term contract.
Later Tierney is predicted to replace Granit Xhaka's role as team captain. The reason is, Xhaka is close to the exit of the Emirates Stadium, which is widely reported to be close to AS Roma.
