Theo James Walcott
Theo James Walcott born at 16 March 1989 is an England national team player. He is a versatile forward who is usually deployed on the right wing.
Walcott is well known, for his blistering pace. F.C.Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola declaring, “You would need a pistol to stop him.” FIFA World Player of the Year winner Lionel Messi, has described Walcott as "One of the most dangerous players I have ever played against".
Walcott was born in Stanmore, North London, but grew up at Compton near Newbury, Berkshire, where he played for the local village team and later for A.F.C. Newbury and went to The Downs School secondary school. Walcott scored more than 100 goals in his one and only season for Newbury, before leaving there for Swindon Town. He only spent six months there before leaving for Southampton after he rejected a chance to join Chelsea. Nike agreed to a sponsorship deal with Walcott when he was fourteen years old.
Walcott transferred to Arsenal on 20 January 2006. He signed an initial pre-contract agreement to sign a professional contract on his 17th birthday on 16 March 2006, and was given the number 32 shirt in the process.
Walcott's first goal for Arsenal came in the 2007 League Cup Final against Chelsea at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff, on 25 February 2007.
Following comparisons to former team-mate Thierry Henry, Walcott was assigned Henry's former number 14 for the 2008–09 season. During the season, Walcott established himself as a first team regular, starting many games on the right midfield or winger.
“This year I’m just going to get out there and show people what I can do,” said Theo Walcott in pre-season. “It’s all I can do really.”
It was an admirable attitude from a player who will be motivated by his World Cup omission last summer.
Ironically, it was his selection for Germany 2006 that catapulted Theo into the limelight. Since then, his quick feet have slowly built his reputation as a top-level performer. And he has chosen some big Champions League games in which display his finest work – Barcelona 2010 and Liverpool 2008.
He remains a winger for now but Arsène Wenger still sees a striker in him. Wherever he plays there is more to come from Theo Walcott.
Theo Walcott was under the age of 21 on January 1, 2010 and therefore it was not necessary to name him in Arsenal's official Premier League squad.
Theo Walcott played for Arsenal in 12 season. In 17 January 2018 Walcot moved to Everton.*
