Johan Danon Djourou-Gbadjere
Johan Djourou born 18 January 1987 in Abidjan (Ivory Coast) is an Ivorian-born Swiss international footballer. He joined Arsenal on 2004, but on 2 April 2014 he signed contract to moved to Bundesliga club, Hamburg SV after became a loan player in this club since July 2013.
He used to play as a defensive midfielder in his youth for former club Etoile Carouge, but on his arrival at Arsenal (2003) was converted to a central defender. He occasionally fills in at full back for Arsenal and played several games in central midfield while on loan to Birmingham City in 2008.
Johan made serene progress through the ranks at Arsenal before a serious knee injury stopped him in his tracks in 2009. The Swiss defender spent virtually the whole of last season on the sidelines as a result.
On 3 January 2013, Djourou confirmed that he is set to move to Bundesliga side Hannover on a six-month loan deal until the end of the season. And on 1 July 2013, Djourou was signing for Bundesliga side Hamburger SV on loan for a season. And on 2 April 2014, Hamburg SV announced had signed Djourou on a permanent deal, with the Swiss defender moving to the Bundesliga club.
