DAVID OSPINA RAMIREZ

David Ospina Ramírez is a Colombian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Premier League club Arsenal. He is also the first goalkeeper of Columbian national team. Ospina signed for Arsenal from Nice (France) in July 2014.

Ospina was born in Medellin, Colombia, at 31 August 1988. He began his career with Atletico Nacional, where he made 97 appearances before leaving to join Nice in 2008. He made 189 league appearances for Les Aiglons during his six-year spell with the French club.

Ospina made his debut for Arsenal in the League Cup match against Southampton, a 1–2 home defeat, on September 23, 2014. He made his second Arsenal appearance on October 1, in Champions League group stage match at home to Galatasaray, replacing Alexis Sánchez after goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny had been sent off. He made several vital saves in the game, make Arsenal won 4-1. Unfortunately, Ospina suffered a thigh injury in October that would keep him out effectively for the rest of the year.

The 6ft stopper had an impressive World Cup with Colombia, helping his country to the quarter-finals in Brazil with a series of fine displays.

Ospina made his first start for the national team in a 2010 World Cup qualifier against Bolivia, becoming the second youngest keeper to start for Colombia.
 
David Ospina played in the arsenal for 4 seasons (2014-2018). In the 2018-2019 season, Arsenal loan Ospina to Serie A club, Napoli, after the arrival of Peter Cech. And ospina moved permanently to Napoli in the following season.*
