Szczesny Out Until The End of This Season

Szczesny injury blow for Arsenal

Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny fully treated by a medical specialist in order to heal the finger injury he obtained at his club against Barcelona on Tuesday (March 18). Because the injury, Szczesny must exit the field after just running 18 minutes and replaced by Manuel Almunia.

According to manager Arsene Wenger, Szczesny may not only suffered a dislocated digits but may have damaged tendons. Therefore Szczesny certainly absent for Arsenal until the end of this season.

"The scans showed that Szczesny has finger dislocations and tendon problems," said Wenger. "But we are waiting for expert evaluation to find out what exactly happened.”

The injury of the young Poland goalkeeper is of course very disgusting Arsene Wenger because the other goalkeeper Lukas Fabianski also can not play until the end of the season because of injury. Practically Arsenal has only one goalkeeper until the end of the season. To take two young goalkeepers from the reserves, namely Damian Martinez (18 years) and James Shea (19 years) is very risky because they lack experience.

To overcome this problem, the manager said he was looking into the possibility of emergency loan. But he admitted had not contacted the Premier League.
