KIERAN GIBBS PROFILE

Kieran James Ricardo Gibbs

Kieran James Ricardo Gibbs came through the Arsenal ranks as a winger but has since made his senior England debut as a left back.

Arsène Wenger moved Kieran into the back four after he returned from a loan spell with Norwich in 2008 and it proved to be a masterstroke.

Kieran has all the attributes required to be a world-class full back - pace, intelligence, anticipation and sound technique. And his natural attacking instincts make him a valuable outlet when Arsenal go forward.

Kieran has been an able deputy for Gael Clichy in recent seasons and will want to make the left back role his own after returning from a long-term injury.

Kieran signed a professional contract with Arsenal in September 2007, and was named in the club's 2007–08 UEFA Champions League squad.

Kieran Gibbs was under the age of 21 on January 1, 2010 and therefore it was not necessary to name him in Arsenal's official Premier League squad. He is a product of Arsenal Academy who came to prominence during 2006-07 FA Youth Cup by scoring in the semi-final prior to 1st team breakthrough.

Kieran début for the Senior England national team was in a friendly against Hungary at Wembley Stadium on 11 August 2010.

On 30 August 2017, Gibbs moved to West Bromwich Albion on a four-year contract, for a fee in the region of £6.75 million.*
