Alexandre Dimitri Song Billong played for Arsenal in four seasons before moved to Barcelona at 2012.

He was born on September 09, 1987 at Douala, Cameroon. Arsenal firstly loan Alex Song from Bastia club (France) in 2005, then bought him for £1,000,000 in 2006. He has carved himself a niche as Arsenal's No 1 defensive midfielder. But then Alex Song moved to Barcelona on 20 August 2012 for five-year contract for a fee of £15m. He followed Cesc Fabregas who moved to the same club at previous year.

Strong in the tackle, positionally aware and a good distributor of the ball, Alex is becoming a master at protecting his back four, breaking up opposition forays and initiating attacks.

Alex was part of the Cameroon squad at the 2010 World Cup and should go from strength to strength this season.*
