Arsenal coach Arsène Wenger has confirmed that Kieran Gibbs will return to the Arsenal squad for this weekend's trip to Everton.
The England international has managed just 19 minutes of first-team football since September 28 after suffering a knee problem at Newcastle last month on his return from a foot injury.
Wenger told Arsenal TV Online on Thursday that Gibbs "could" be back for Sunday's game. At his pre-match press conference he firmed up those plans and gave an update on Abou Diaby's ankle complaint.
"We have the same players available [from the Wolves game]," said Wenger. "Kieran Gibbs is back in the squad but we will see tomorrow [whether he plays].
"The first tests [on Diaby's ankle] are quite encouraging. We had the ball today. I don’t know how he reacted but yesterday and the day before the tests were positive.
"At the moment we have to be patient and go day by day."
Aside from Diaby, Arsenal will be without Thomas Vermaelen (Achilles) and Manuel Almunia (elbow) on Sunday. Aaron Ramsey is back in training but will not feature at Everton.*
